Happy Valentine's Day! Yesterday was such a lovely day to celebrate the wonderful students and staff we’re lucky to spend our days with! We held grade-level class parties where everyone exchanged valentines and treats—so much fun! A special highlight was the handmade valentines from Mrs. Vincent’s class, where students got to write heartfelt messages to any teacher they chose and deliver them in person. It was a beautiful way to strengthen our connections and spread some kindness!

Good Morning Skyview!

We are super thrilled to inform you that after those endless snow days, we are FINALLY back in school. So a quick update—forget about celebrating the 100th day of school today, we will celebrate on the ACTUAL 100th day, next Friday, February 6, 2026. Because clearly, being in charge of the weather to control this is not our thing, LOL. If your child's class has some “exciting” activities lined up, don’t worry they will send out that information to you soon. Welcome back, we are so happy to see everyone here today!

Good Morning Skyview!
Tomorrow is our annual Santa photograpgh day. If you would like to purchase a 5x7 photo they will be $5 each. You can send cash or check made payable to Skyview PTO to school tomorrow with your child. Please label the baggie or envelope with your child's name and also write Santa photo on it so your student's teachers will know what the money is for. You MUST pre-pay so we know who is getting a photograph taken and who is just visiting. All students will have a chance to visit with him if they chose to.

Hello! Just a friendly reminder that tomorrow is Yearbook Picture Retake Day. If your child needs their photo retaken, please be sure to send back any previous photos you've purchased. If you haven't bought any photos yet, just let your child's teacher know so we can make sure your child gets their picture taken. Also, if your student was absent on the first picture day or has recently joined our school, please inform the teacher so we can arrange for their photo to be taken as well. Thanks so much!

Skyview Elementary is proud to be a Special Olympics Unified Champion School, which means we are committed to an inclusive environment where every student belongs, builds friendships, and receives the support they need to shine.

October is Down Syndrome Awareness Month, and our Unified initiative is ROCK YOUR SOCKS. Chromosomes can look a bit like socks, and while some people have the usual number, some amazing friends have an extra copy of Chromosome 21. This extra chromosome is what leads to Down Syndrome, a condition that may impact learning and development, yet does not limit the joy, talents, or incredible contributions of these individuals to our school and community.

This Wednesday, while you enjoy wearing your pajamas to school, add your funkiest, brightest, and most unique socks to show your support for students, friends, and family with Down syndrome.

Let’s celebrate inclusion. Let’s celebrate differences. Let’s rock those socks, Millers!

We had an incredible surprise in Mrs. Smith’s RISE classroom last week! Our very own STEM teacher, Mrs. Butcher, brought in her son, an Edmond Police Officer, to meet our amazing students!
Officer Butcher gave our kids a hands-on look at his uniform, badge, handcuffs, radio, and all! They even got to try on their very own mini badges.

In true RISE fashion, we sent him off with a heartfelt letter about how to best communicate with us, how officers can best serve our students, and how much we appreciate the work Officer Butcher does every day.
Thank you, Officer Butcher, for your service and for helping our students see that law enforcement officers can be both heroes and friends!

This week in Mrs. Stanton's kindergarten, the kids had fun exploring foil and discovering how it reflects light! They also learned about a city in an area where during the winter the sun never makes an appearance. To bring the science lesson to life, they used the foil to mimic shining light on a little paper model of a town, making learning both interactive and exciting!
